Redhill School's U-17 netball team from Johannesburg has achieved a historic victory by winning the World Schools Netball Cup in the UK — a first for any South African school, and remarkably, on their debut appearance. Going undefeated through every match, the team impressed international spectators with their structured and composed style of play, despite only having two months to prepare.
Their success, guided by head coach Ashleigh Gray, has been celebrated as a triumph of discipline, adaptability, and unity. Team captain Suhani Ahuja described the moment as “overwhelming,” while Redhill’s executive head Joseph Gerassi praised the win as a reflection of the team’s dedication and spirit. A special celebration is planned to honour the achievement, marking a proud milestone for the Redhill community.
